When installed and programmed correctly, smart thermostats can save energy and help lower electrical demand. For members with an electric furnace or heat pump system, Flathead Electric Co-op offers rebates of $140 per new homeowner-installed smart thermostat or $165 each for contractor installations. (Maximum of 1 rebate per furnace or heat pump controlled, and 2 rebates per household. Rebate will be applied as a credit on member’s next bill.)
