April Roundup for Safety Awards

Meeting in regular session April 13, Flathead Electric’s Roundup for Safety Board awarded $19,746 in grants to the following safety related community projects:
Kalispell Elks Lodge – $1,000 for Bike Helmets;
Flathead 4-H Foundation – $1,200 for Safety Shirts;
Kalispell Police (SRT) Department – $3,408 for Flame Resistant Uniforms;
Kootenai Valley Christian School – $703 for Emergency Door Locks;
Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation- $760 for Radios;
Montana Kayak Association – $1,000 for Personal Protection Equipment;
Western Montana Mental Health Clinic – $2,000 for Defibrillators;
Flathead Area Mountain Bikers – $1,000 for Safety/First Aid Training;
Whitefish Baseball – $1,500 for Fencing and Gates;
Columbia Falls High School – $6,500 for Lighting and Poles; and
Kalispell Youth Softball – $675 for Protective Equipment.
Roundup for Safety is a voluntary program for FEC members who allow their electric bills to be rounded up to the next dollar, with the extra money going into a fund for community nonprofit safety projects.
