Steve Streich has proudly served Flathead Electric Cooperative as the District 4 Trustee since 2021. Currently, he holds the Vice President position on the Board and a seat on the Executive Committee. Steve also represents the Co-op on the Legislative Committee of the statewide board, the Montana Electric Cooperatives’ Association (MECA). Through his dedicated service, Steve recently earned his Director Gold Credential from the National Rural Electric Cooperatives Association (NRECA).
For the last 37 years, Steve has owned and operated a now-third generation Montana seed potato farm located near Creston. Streich & Associates has been family-owned for nearly 70 years.
Armed with a BA in Business Administration and Accounting from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, Steve has also given over 30 years of service as a board member of the Montana Potato Improvement Association. Locally, he volunteers on the boards of CHS-Mountain West Cooperative and Flathead Farm Mutual Insurance. On a national level, Steve was nominated to the US Potato Board, where he served as an executive committee member for six years and traveled extensively internationally on trade missions promoting US potatoes. Steve’s experiences as a board member for several other cooperative businesses have given him a deeper understanding of the importance of strong leadership, community outreach, and member involvement.
Steve is looking forward to continuing his service and commitment as a Trustee and helping Flathead Electric Cooperative members navigate the current challenges of power supply, reliability, and most importantly, affordable energy.
