Flathead Electric Cooperative’s scholarships are funded by unclaimed capital credits. Despite the Co-op’s best efforts to return capital credits to our members, many go unclaimed (some people move and don’t provide a forwarding address for example). As a not-for-profit electric cooperative, the state allows Flathead Electric to use capital credits that go unclaimed for five or more years for educational purposes in our service area, rather than it going into the Montana general fund.
Social Distancing Scholarship Giveaway
Stuck at home? What a great time to win money for college!
Flathead Electric holds a scholarship drawing each year for high school seniors who attend the Co-op’s Annual Meeting. The meeting was cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we still wanted to give local students a chance to win those scholarship dollars.
