Utility-Work-Sign

When you see flashing lights and hear sirens from ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars, you already know to move over and slow down. It’s the right thing to do, and it’s also required by law. Did you know it’s also the law to move over for utility service vehicles pulled over on the side of the road, responding to emergencies?

If you see a Flathead Electric Cooperative vehicle with flashing or rotating lights, or a utility sign advising you of a nearby emergency, you are required by law to move over and slow down. Just like first responders, electric utility workers have critical work to do, often under dangerous conditions.

Please help to keep everyone safe by moving over and slowing down when your fellow Montanans are responding to emergencies.
