Meet Michael Piper, Journeyman Lineman & Employee Ambassador
Q. What does a Journeyman Lineman do for the Co-op?
A. We build and maintain the grid. Everything between our transmission to your meter. We are also the only group qualified to touch a power line, so we are the guys that restore power when weather events hit or a squirrel climbs into the wrong place.
Q. What’s the best part of your job?
A. The mobility is the best part of my job. It’s not very often we have to be in the same place for too many days at a time.
Q. What’s your favorite thing about living in the Co-op’s service area?
A. The best part of living here for me is family. My boys are 5th generation Flathead Valley. They get to have relationships with their grandparents and even great-grandparents.
