During these warnings, your Co-op adjusts protective devices on our power lines to shut off power more quickly if they detect a problem, such as a tree contacting a line. This reduces the risk of sparks but may lead to more frequent outages and longer restoration times while crews inspect lines before safely restoring power.
These additional safety measures may result in longer restoration times, but they are an important part of protecting our members and communities.
