$1,000 BEPC Scholarship and $500 MECA Scholarships are available for students - apply now!
Each year, your Co-op connects local students with several different scholarship opportunities. These scholarships are available for students who are members, or whose parents/guardians are served by Flathead Electric at their primary residence, including:
- Seniors graduating from accredited high schools in the Co-op’s service area
- Graduating homeschool students
- Current undergraduate college students
Each winter, Flathead Electric Cooperative (FEC) offers over $117,000 in scholarships, ranging from $1,500 to $6,000 individual awards. These scholarships are funded by your Co-op’s unclaimed capital credits. As a not-for-profit cooperative, Montana allows Flathead Electric to use capital credits that go unclaimed for 5 or more years for educational purposes in our service area, rather than returning them to the Montana general fund. FEC’s scholarships will open January 1.
Each fall, students are also eligible to apply for one $1,000 Basin Electric Power Cooperative (BEPC) scholarship and one $500 Montana Electric Cooperatives Association (MECA) scholarship. BEPC and MECA scholarship applications open October 16 and close January 15 – apply now!
