Flathead Electric Cooperative's Roundup for Safety program is seeking a Youth Director.
Roundup for Safety is sponsored by the Co-op and voluntarily funded by members who “round up” their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar. The extra money provides grant funds for locally based nonprofit safety projects. Since 1997, Roundup has awarded more than $5M in support of over 1,400 community safety projects, such as the installation of AEDs in public places, improved netting and fencing at sports complexes, and critical equipment for first responders serving their communities through organizations like volunteer fire departments and search and rescue units.
The Roundup for Safety Board of Directors is independent from the Co-op. It evaluates all applications and awards grants. The Youth Director assists the Board in evaluating grant applications and discussing their merits. The Youth Director is a nonvoting position.
Outstanding, civic-minded, rising high school sophomores, juniors, or seniors who are passionate about community safety and nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply. Applications are open through March 31 – June 30 and require a resume, transcript, letter of recommendation, and 1-page cover letter or 2-minute video explaining the applicant’s interest in serving the program.
