As part of the full remodel of their Libby store, Rosauers' three energy efficiency projects received rebate checks totaling over $100,000.
Rosauers Supermarkets has been a Flathead Electric member since 1999, when the cooperative took over electrical service to the cities of Kalispell and Libby. With stores in both communities, Rosauers has become one of the staple grocers in Northwest Montana.
Recently, the grocer completed a major remodel of the Libby store that had been originally constructed decades ago. Working with Flathead Electric’s Key Member team and energy efficiency engineers from the Bonneville Power Administration, Rosauers completed three energy incentive projects and received rebate checks totaling over $100,000.
The projects involved new LED lighting throughout the store, new refrigerated display cases, and floating refrigeration controls. Altogether, the energy savings were 553,177.52 kilowatt-hours, enough to power 40 area homes annually.
