While we know that no one likes to see rates increase, your Co-op staff and trustees are pleased to have minimized the impact of rising costs.
In June, an overall 2.8% rate increase will occur to safeguard the future stability of your member-owned Co-op’s affordable, reliable power. Over the past five years, inflation has increased the average cost of US goods and services by over 21%. While we know that no one likes to see rates increase, your Co-op staff and trustees are pleased to have minimized the impact of rising costs. During this same timeframe, only two small rate adjustments have occurred, resulting in a total increase of 3.9% in electric rates since 2019.
We’re thankful that as a not-for-profit cooperative, our business model allows us to adjust rates to cover costs and doesn’t require us to make profits for investors.
