Every spring, FEC members get to exercise their democratic rights and vote on important decisions that affect their Co-op. By participating in the annual election process, members seat Board of Trustees and approve critical bylaw updates that steer the Cooperative’s future.
What’s on the Ballot?
Trustee Elections: This year, three seats are up for election: District #6 (West Valley/Kila), District #8 (Bigfork), and District #9 (Libby).
Proposed Bylaw Amendment 1: Uncontested Election
This proposed amendment is on the ballot at the request of Co-op members. It would remove the requirement for FEC to conduct an election when all open Board of Trustees seats are uncontested. Feedback gathered from member surveys and other input channels indicates a preference not to incur the costs associated with running an uncontested election.
Proposed Bylaw Amendment 2: General Updates
These proposed updates reflect recommendations from national electric cooperative organizations, legal counsel, and Cooperative staff, and are part of a periodic review to keep the bylaws clear, well-organized, and up to date in support of reliable service to members. These updates do not change the Cooperative’s not-for-profit structure or members’ ownership rights.

Election Dates: Voting opens the morning of April 17 and runs until May 15.
How to Vote: Members can vote via the “My Co-op” app, a unique link sent to their email, or via traditional paper ballots that arrive in the mail shortly after the Annual Meeting on April 16.
