National Statistics

50,000 + U.S. High School Students

Since the late 1950s, more than 50,000 high school students have participated in Youth Tour and had the opportunity to hone their confidence and leadership skills, returning home ready to make a difference in their communities.

66 Years

In 1958, a rural electric cooperative in Iowa sponsored the first group of 34 young people on a week-long study tour of our nation’s capital.

32 Students, 18 Co-ops

This year, Montana sent 32 students from 18 co-ops. In total, there were over 1,600 participants from 44 states!

20+ Years

Montana’s rural electric cooperatives have been sending youths to Washington, D.C., for more than 20 years.

$4,500+

Youth Tour is a $4,500+ value per participant Youth Tour is funded by unclaimed capital credits.

$14,000

One $10,000 scholarship and four $1,000 scholarships annually are available to Montana Youth Tour alumni.
