Here are a few items a forester will review with you during your wildfire assessment.
Immediate Zone (0-5 feet from the home)
- Are chimneys cleaned AND screened?
- Is the roofing material fire-resistant?
- Is your roof clear of pine needles and woody debris?
- Is there 5 feet directly around your home free of combustible material?
Intermediate Zone (5-30 feet)

Are fuels, like wood piles, kept at least 30 feet away from the main structures?
Extended Zone (30-100 feet)

Are trees adequately thinned and pruned within 100 feet of the main structures?
