In one scenario, a truck snagged overhead lines, bringing them down in an area along Whitefish Stage Road. In a separate incident, crews are assessing equipment failure on the system that occurred on Meridian Road in Kalispell, impacting that area and west of town. Crews are hoping for restoration by 4:30 p.m.
Update on power outage in KalispellWednesday, February 17, 2021 at 4:56pm
Power has been restored to over a thousand members impacted by the outage in Kalispell today due to equipment failure on the system along Meridian Road. Crews were hoping for full restoration by now, but have discovered additional equipment that needs to be replaced along Two Mile Drive. That will require at least another half hour of work, followed by a short outage along US Highway 2 West to safely pick that line back up. FYI Equipment failure can be attributed to a number of causes, which can’t always be identified. Frequently, equipment is damaged by preceding events (like storms).
