May 2 BPA Outage Updates
Over 9,000 FEC members are currently out of power due to what we believe is an issue with Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) transmission lines which provide the power to our area. We are in contact with BPA and will post updates as soon they are available. Please check back to this page for information.
We have confirmed that BPA lost a transmission line. We do not know the cause at this point. We are in a holding pattern waiting for a timeline from them. Right now we are doing our best to plan for some switching to get members on as quickly as possible. Please stay tuned.
Good news – all FEC member’s power was restored around 7:30 p.m. The problem was isolated to the Bonneville Power Administration’s 230-volt transmission line that feeds the FEC substation which powers the Whitefish area, Big Mountain, and Marion areas. BPA believes that the issue was caused by a lightning strike. Thank you for your patience!
