On this national appreciation day and everyday: Thank you, lineworkers!
The hard work and dedication of Flathead Electric Cooperative’s highly trained linemen was on full display this past December when we experienced the largest and longest power outage in the Co-op’s history. As flooding and hurricane-force winds hit the region, your Co-op’s 38 linemen worked around the clock to restore power to our communities.
Crews worked through nine consecutive nights in hazardous conditions, often battling mud so deep that heavy equipment became stuck. Responding to nearly 375 separate outages, our crews didn’t stop until every member’s power was restored. While this was an exceptionally challenging situation, the true grit of our crews was nothing new. Whether they’re performing routine maintenance or standing tall against –30°F temperatures and howling winds, these highly trained professionals remain on call 24/7, 365 days a year. We especially honor their relentless effort during that December crisis, joining lineworkers across the nation who keep the lights on no matter what.
