SWAN LAKE, Montana – Flathead Electric Cooperative (FEC) will perform tree trimming and other vegetation management work on Highway 83, Mile Markers 75 – 78, along Swan Lake this fall. Work will occur intermittently Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will from time to time require a one-lane closure of Highway 83. Traffic control measures will be in place when crews are present.

Vegetation management in this area is necessary to improve safety for the traveling public, as dead trees adjacent to the highway will be removed. This work will also mitigate potential wildfire starts and help to prevent future power outages.

Information about the intermittent closure will be updated as the work progresses and shared on Flathead Electric Cooperative’s website and Facebook page.
