I felt a bit like Ferris Bueller living high on life

“You’re going to have to drive it as much as possible. Take it home, out with your family, anywhere you can,” my manager informed me one morning while the day was just starting. I think my response was a little doe-eyed. Was I hearing this correctly? Had my manager really just told me that part of my responsibilities were to drive our new all electric Chevy Bolt as much as I could for work and my normal life?
I like my commuter car, a Toyota Matrix, and my weekend family get out and about vehicle is pretty nice too, a Dodge Durango, but they don’t compare to an electric vehicle. I’ve never owned an electric vehicle (yet) but from my experiences driving them it is just a matter of time before I do. So cheap to fuel and maintain, great performance, quiet, comfortable… (more to come later).
Now I have one at my disposal! Heading home from work that afternoon, in my new ride, I felt a bit like Ferris Bueller living high on life. After my short time, so far, driving the Bolt I would agree with Ferris: “It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.”
Stay tuned to this blog for more on our new EV. I love EV’s but I also understand that each variation may have its limits and I’ll be pushing this car to see what it can and can’t do. In the meantime, if you see me out and about; wave, say hi, or come and check out the vehicle. Until then here are a couple shots of the future of transportation and the nicest car in Flathead Electric’s fleet.
