FEC 2018 Trustee Election Results
Reconvening the Annual Meeting April 2, the Board of Trustees for Flathead Electric Co-op announced election results. Ballots were due at the office of auditing firm, JCCS, by March 29, 2018. Flathead Electric received certification from CPA, Tony Vanorny, at JCCS that a total of 6,065 ballots were received.
Three seats on the Flathead Electric Board of Trustees were up for election this year. Candidates had to be members of the Co-op and live in the district they sought election to represent.
The certification stated that incumbent Emery Smith (District 2-Lower Valley, Rollins, Cooke City, Elk Basin), held his seat by receiving 3,455 votes against challenger Todd Wallace, who received 2,378. Incumbent Trustees Jay Downen (District 3-Whitefish, Big Mountain, Olney), and Alan Ruby (District 5-Kalispell, north of U.S. Hwy 2) ran unopposed and were re-elected to the Board, receiving 5,546 and 5,577 respectively.
