- Ensure you are signed up to receive text alerts.
- Charge phones, backup batteries, mobility equipment, and other essential devices.
- Make a plan for medications and medical equipment that require electricity. Discuss backup options with your medical provider before fire season.
- If your home uses a private well, store drinking water and water needed for sanitation.
- Learn how to manually open electric garage doors, gates, and other access equipment.
- Keep flashlights, batteries, a battery-powered radio, and shelf-stable food available.
- Keep vehicle fuel or charge at a useful level.
- Sign up for your county emergency-alert system.
- Consider the needs of family members, neighbors, pets, and livestock.
