Co-op members elect other members to serve on the Board of Trustees that conducts the cooperative's business.

Each spring brings a specific reminder of one of the many ways member-owned cooperatives are different from investor-owned utilities. Co-ops are not-for-profit, autonomous, self-help organizations governed by their members. Co-op members elect other members to serve on the Board of Trustees that conducts the cooperative’s business. These elections are held each spring. Elected trustees ensure democratic control by overseeing the Co-op’s operational decisions, financials, and agreements entered with other organizations or government entities.

Regardless of which of the Co-op’s district you reside in, you have the right to vote each year for all Trustees running for election. This year’s election opened on April 19 and closes May 17. Paper ballots must be received by the Co-op’s third-party election firm by May 17. Electronic voting closes at 11 a.m. on that same day. If you would like to vote electronically next year (e-ballots save your Co-op time and money, which helps keep rates low) please call the Co-op at 406-751-4483. Thank you for participating in your Co-op’s democratic process!
