Residential Service Sample Bill
This is the date the bill is due before penalties are applied.
This line shows the amount of your last payment and the date received.
This is the unpaid balance due from last month.
This is the total due for the current billing period to avoid penalties.
The number of days in the billing period.
Usage calculated for the kWh (kilowatt hours) is the difference between the end read “Pres kWh” and the start read “Prev kWh” multiplied by the meter multiplier “Mult.” Generally speaking, members with high energy consumption will have meters with multipliers.
This is the FEC Rate Class Description.
The kWh Charges are for the energy consumed during the billing period. There may be different kWh rates depending upon the amount of kWh consumed.
(Applies to Medium, Large, and X-Large Services only) The kW (kilowatt) Charges for the demand during the billing period. There may be different kW rates depending upon the amount of kW consumed.
The Basic Charge covers a portion of the Cooperative’s fixed expenses: metering, member service, universal system benefits, taxes, and minimum system costs.
(Applies to Large, and X-Large Services only) The kW Load Size charge is an additional basic charge component that recovers fixed costs for large general service, extra-large general service, and industrial members based upon their highest demand usage over the previous 12 months.
(Applies to Medium, Large, and X-Large Services only) The Reactive Power Charge is the difference between the peak kVAR and the allowed kVAR during the billing period. The allowed kVAR is 30% of the peak kW for the current billing period.
This section includes miscellaneous charges and credits such as Roundup for Safety, any refunds and/or advance payments. The Roundup for Safety program rounds your bill up to the nearest dollar each month, and these funds are donated to safety projects in our service area. Roundup for Safety is a voluntary program, contributions are tax deductible.
