Co-op employees support United Way

Pledges total $41,092 in Pacesetter campaign

Flathead Electric Cooperative and Co-op employees, including the many supportive members of IBEW Local 768, pledged more than $41,000 to this year’s United Way campaign to benefit local charities.
Flathead Electric is a Pacesetter Company in the campaign, qualifying as a Gold Medallion Club Member.
The total is up considerably from last year, when the Co-op and employees pledged about $37,750 to the drive.
Employees in the Kalispell office pledged $18,455, while employees in Libby pledged $2,091. A silent auction raised an additional $568. The Co-op matches employee contributions, so the total Flathead Electric pledge was $41,092.

“The Flathead Electric Co-op employees are our partners in providing a better quality of life for many in our community,” said Sherry Stevens Wulf, executive director for the local United Way organization. “Flathead Electric Coop employees contribute their volunteer time as well as their financial support and are truly making a difference in our community. Hats off to Flathead Electric for building our future . . . through the United Way.”
“Building Our Future” is the theme for this year’s United Way fund drive, which continues through Dec. 31.
Last year the United Way raised $775,000 to assist local health and human care agencies in Flathead County. There are currently 22 member agencies, 1 grantee and 6 services of the United Way that provided more than 63,000 acts of service to residents in Northwest Montana.
“United Way hopes to be able to meet and exceed the amount raised last year so that we will be able to respond to the ever-rising needs within each of the agencies,” Wulf said.
All donations remain in our communities to help individuals and families in need. For more information on the United Way, call
