Trustee candidates need to submit nominating petitions Three seats are up for election
A board of trustees elected from and by the membership governs Flathead Electric Cooperative, Inc. As a member of the Co-op, you may have the opportunity to fill one of the three positions on the board up for election in March. There are nine geographical trustee districts in our service territory. Trustee positions up for election this year are the District 1 seat held by Chris H. Byrd of Martin City; the District 4 seat held by Doug Grob of Evergreen; and the District 7 seat held by Bruce Measure of Kalispell.
If you live in one of these districts and want to run for a seat on the board, you may give notice of interest by submitting a petition to the nominating committee of the Board of Trustees. The petition needs to be submitted by March 24, 2004. The petition must contain the printed name, address, telephone number and a valid, dated signature of not less than 25 members of the Co-op from the candidate’s district. A written profile of each nominee needs to be included. The Co-op’s nominating committee will review the petition to insure that both the candidate and all signers live in the applicable district and that the candidate has the qualifications defined in the Co-op’s bylaws. If these criteria are met, the candidates will be nominated at the Co-op’s annual meeting on March 27, 2004. An election will be conducted by mail immediately after the annual meeting. Nomination forms are available at the Co-op office in Kalispell or you may request one by mail. Contact Bev McGuire at 751-4444 for a form or if you have questions regarding the nomination or election process. |
