During an Outage, We Count on You

Whether you realize it or not, you and your fellow member-owners play a critical role in restoring power during an outage. This winter season is bringing interesting weather patterns involving wind. Trees blown over and branches in the lines can cause outages on the system. Your calls to report an outage provide us with critical information. It helps our linemen determine the location and extent of a problem. The more information we receive from you, the better armed we are to assess where to dispatch our linemen. As a result, it helps us restore your power in a timely manner.

We also rely on you to report anything you see that is out of the ordinary like a downed power line or trees and branches in the lines. Please don't venture out to further investigate a downed line or tree that appears to be on or close to the lines. To maintain your safety, it is best to give us a call and leave the work to trained professionals at the Co-op.

Flathead Electric dispatch employees appreciate your patience as we try to determine where the problem is occurring and what the problem may be. We often get asked why power is off and how long the power may be out. Often times, we can't answer your question until we have employees dispatched and working on the problem. Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to restore power to you and your neighbors efficiently. We have staff available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Once they establish the source of an outage, linemen are doing their best to correct the problem quickly. Thanks again for your help and for providing us with as much information as possible. We are counting on you and we know you are counting on us.
