Flathead Electric Cooperative, Inc., is currently accepting applications for a Director of Energy and Member Services in our Kalispell office.  

This is a full time exempt level position.   Wage DOE with an excellent benefits package.  

Duties:  Direct department activities related to energy management including but not limited to developing progressive energy efficiency and demand response programs as well as net metering and interconnection opportunities for the Cooperative and its members.  Responsible for developing and administering activities related to internal and external marketing and communications strategies, public relations, website content, increasing the Cooperative’s social media presence and legislative activity.  Oversee the Cooperative’s member service and collections functions including the call center and front offices in Kalispell and Libby.  Manage the Cooperative’s key accounts program with an emphasis on improving the Cooperative’s presence with its most influential members.  Assist the Engineering Department with power generation and renewable energy initiatives when requested.  Assist all other areas of the Cooperative as appropriate.      

Prerequisite Skills and Experience:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing or related field required.  Substantial experience in the electric utility, energy and member service fields may be substituted for a degree.               

Job Related Experience:  5 years’ experience in progressively responsible positions, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the electric utility field, including positions dealing directly with service to and communications with members.   

Computer Skills:  Excellent computer skills to include spreadsheets and word-processing  required.

Other Qualifications:
•  Must be at least 18 years old.
•  Able to work 40 hours a week, with additional time as required.
•  Must have a valid Montana driver’s license and be insurable.
•  Must present a professional appearance at all times.
•  Effective verbal and written communications skills, confident with public speaking; demonstrated ability     
    to work effectively with a team.
•  Must have the ability to understand complex business problems from a technical and financial aspect
    and develop and present creative solutions to those problems. 
•  Requires a strong commitment to teamwork and the cooperative principles.  Should have a good
    understanding of the Cooperative’s policies, procedures, and rates. 
•  Able to travel occasionally out of the area and overnight.
