Annual Meeting
Flathead Electric's 73rd Annual Members' Meeting

More than 500 members and an almost equal number of visitors, attended the 73rd Annual Members Meeting, held March 20, 2010 at the Christian Center in Kalispell.

For a second year in a row, the new venue proved to be excellent in accommodating a large group of people with comfort and quality in audio/video presentations.

Trustee candidates’ speeches were heard, as were reports from Co-op management.

New this year was the awarding of two $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors Josh Criner and Tessa Weyrauch. 26 students (who had to be present to win and accompanied by a parent/guardian who is a member of the Co-op) entered their names in a drawing. Criner and Weyrauch both plan to attend the University of Montana.

Congratulations to all who took home prizes, including Dick Marsh who claimed the grand prize of a $300 bill credit.

Ballots were due at the offices of auditing firm, JCCS, by April 9th. Flathead Electric received certification from CPA, Tony Vanorny, at JCCS that 6,298 total ballots were received. The certification also stated that incumbents, Doug Grob-District #4 and George Taylor-District #7 were reelected this year to continue to sit on the Board of Trustees for the Co-op.

Chris Byrd-District #1 was the only opposed Trustee in this year’s election, and he too was reelected to serve. Byrd received 3,185 votes, while challenger Dee Brown received 2,759.

Trustees also met Wednesday, April 28, for their regularly scheduled Board Meeting and officially elected officers. George Taylor, who represents District #7, was reelected to serve a second year as President. Also reelected were Chris H. Byrd-District #1, as Vice President, and Duane Braaten-District #6, as Secretary/Treasurer.
