Thinking about building a new home or structure that will need New Service?
It is our desire to provide this information to help avoid misunderstandings and eliminate any problems in providing electric service. The customer is advised to contact telephone and TV utilities before construction. The customer is also required to provide a minimum clear zone of 10-feet in front of all pad mount transformers and switchgear. No shrubbery or other obstruction is allowed.

Below are some things to think about:

• Is this line extension overhead or underground?
• Will this line extension include a metered service?
• What is the approximate distance (in feet) from our nearest facility to your new service location?
• What will be your service size (amps, KW total connected load)?
• Where will your meter base be located?

If you wish to set an engineering appointment you will need to pay an engineering deposit before an appointment will be scheduled. The deposits are listed below.

• Service drops (less than 150') will require an electrical permit and a $125.00 connect fee.
• Upgrades will require a deposit of $125.00.
• Any primary line extension (greater than 150') will require a non-refundable deposit of $125.00. This will be applied to the cost of the job.
• Relocation of any of our existing facilities (pole moves, etc) require a $125.00 non-refundable deposit.
• Requests for security lights require a non-refundable $125.00 deposit. This is the minimum charge for installing a security light.
• For subdivisions of 35 lots or less we require an engineering deposit of $250.00.
• For subdivisions of more than 35 lots we require an engineering deposit of $500.00

In order to provide a job cost the following information will be needed at the time of the engineering appointment. (if applicable)
LOCATION OF:

• Property Corners
• Driveway
• Well
• Septic and drain field
• Preferred transformer location
• Preferred meter location

Please be sure that the property address is visible on site so the staking engineer can find it. Once an engineering appointment has been completed the following will need to be returned to F.E.C. before setting a construction date.
